Medical Assistant (Hybrid Clinical & Phone Triage) – Pulmonary/ Sleep Practice

Job Overview

We are a busy, patient-focused pulmonary & sleep medical practice seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. This hybrid role combines traditional in-office clinical support with scheduled rotations in phone triage.

We have 4 locations in the Jacksonville Area: San Marco, Southside, Fleming Island, and Jacksonville Beach

The ideal candidate is organized, clinically confident, and comfortable communicating with patients both in person and over the phone. Experience in pulmonary, sleep, or specialty care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Clinical (In-Office) Duties:

• Room patients and obtain vital signs
• Update medical history and medication lists
• Prepare patients for provider examinations
• Perform spirometry, Six Minute Walks, and other basic diagnostic testing
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and stock supplies
• Document accurately in EMR

Phone Triage (Rotation):

• Answer and manage patient calls regarding symptoms, medication questions, and follow-ups
• Assess urgency of patient concerns using established protocols
• Route urgent cases appropriately to providers
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
• Manage prescription refill requests
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly in EMR

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
