POSITION TITLE:
Medical Assistant II
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the primary care team in the nursing department, the Medical Assistant II (MA II) provides support for patients, medical providers, nurses, and MAs as well as general support for other clinic functions. The desired candidate has a pleasant and welcoming personality, is a certified medical assistant or EMT-B and willing to learn new skills. Medical Clinic Manager
FLSA STATUS:
Non-exempt
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in providing care for a unique panel of patients shared with an assigned primary care team.
Participates in quality improvement and quality assurance activities, maintains equipment in working order and cleanliness of clinic.
Provide phone and clerical support for general patient inquiries and tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education: Associate Degree in Medical Assisting, certificate from an accredited medical assisting program such as CMA or CCMA, a RMA License, or EMT-B.
Proficiency in written and spoken English. Bi-lingual English/Spanish, English/Moldovan, or English/Russian a plus.
Experience: 1 year of experience as a medical assistant, phlebotomist, pharmacy tech, EMT, or CNA, or 1 year of experience as a medical assistant at CHCFC.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent when traveling between Health Center locations where medical care is provided. This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
