Position Title: Client Care Assistant (CCA)- Clinical

Description of Position: The primary job function is to provide a variety of technical, clerical, and client care services. This includes supporting practitioners and other members of the health care team by gathering client medical history, taking, and recording vital sign information, and occasionally assisting with minor, office-based procedures. This position also provides support to Client Care Assistant- Registration.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the coordination of client flow.
- Escorts client to the different areas within the clinic.
- Ensures proper client identification using a minimum of two client identifiers.
- Assist with the completion of forms (registration package/client forms).
- Provide rapid test to clients.
- Prepares and completes lab orders/requisitions.
- Ensures proper and timely check-in of clients and prepares client for medical exam.
- Prepares rooms for clinical examination and client procedures.
- Assist medical providers with medical procedures/testing.
- Reviews and documents the client’s vital signs in the EHR.
- Notifies and provides lab results to clients (via phone, printed results), and follows up per provider direction.
- Reports abnormal findings to the practitioner.
- Reviews visit summary with the client upon discharge by the provider.
- Receives/sends documents via fax per provider request.
- Timely and accurate Documentation in the EHR.
- Updates and records client information in the EHR.
- Makes phone calls and documents in HR per provider request.
- Completes all tasks sent via EHR by the requested timeframe.
- Prepares and reviews to next day’s client schedule and care requirements to maintain.
- Respond to Lab inquiries from the health department.
- Monitor clinical supplies and inventory.
- Provide back up support for Client Care Assistant- Registration.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 2 years of related work experience.
- Phlebotomy Certification
- OSHA Certification
- Biomedical Waste Cert
- Cert Med Assistant - CCMA
- CPR
- BLS
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications and presentation skills.
- Experienced in working with indigent and culturally diverse populations.
- Electronic Medical Record system knowledge.
- Cooperates as a team member
- Possesses problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Utilizes good time management techniques
- Follows through to completion of assigned tasks
- Abides by all policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Medical Office and/or Health Administration
- Experience working with patients with chronic HIV disease
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
- Bilingual: English/Haitian Creole
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
