Fall General Surgery is a specialty vein and general surgery practice serving patients in WI and MN for over 25 years. We are looking for a full-time (32 hours / week) Medical Assistant or Certified medical Assistant to join our team. This individual will perform various office and clinical duties to keep our clinic practice running efficiently. Hours of operation; M-Th 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, no evenings or weekends.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Reviews charts to ensure information is complete, accurate and filed appropriately.
- Scanning and indexing all pertinent info into E.H.R. patient chart needed for upcoming patient appointment.
- Rooms patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information in patients' record.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Assisting physician(s) with various procedures and patient exams; charting, relaying instructions to patients and families; answering calls and providing pertinent information.
- Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
- Inventories and assists in ordering of medical supplies and materials.
- Enters data into computer, scanning and patient chart preparation in EHR to maintain office and patient records.
- Calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests or procedures.
- Arranges for hospital procedures and outside provider referrals as needed.
- Schedules appointments, maintains electronic medical records, assists in performing reception tasks, and back up for phone as needed.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant Training (Desired / not required).
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Team player with collaborate work style
- Experience working in a clinical setting.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical/Health Record program.
- Ability to pass a Wisconsin Healthcare background check.
- CPR certification within 6 months of hire.
