Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist (170)

Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Virginia, has exciting employment opportunities for an experienced medical assistant/medical receptionist to support a busy cardiology practice in Leesburg, VA. This position is full-time.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vital signs
• Perform EKGs
• Perform stress tests
• Apply and manage Holter monitors
• Pre-chart and prepare clinical charts before patient visits
• Answer patient calls and return clinical messages
• Process medication refill requests
• Process and coordinate pre-operative cardiac clearances
• Complete medication prior authorizations
• Complete procedure prior authorizations

Front Desk Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients
• Answer incoming calls
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage
• Verify copays and deductibles
• Collect patient copays and other amounts due
• Provide front-desk coverage as needed

Job Requirements:

• 2 years medical office/customer service experience
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills
• Must be able to work independently and on a team
• Must have problem solving skills
• Professional demeanor
• Bi-lingual a plus
• Willing and able to perform both Medical Assistant and front-desk responsibilities
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and staff
• Comfortable handling patient calls and clinical messages
• Able to work efficiently in a busy medical office
• Willing to cross-train and provide coverage where needed
