We value our employees and are seeking an experienced full-time Medical Assistant for our busy practice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning, providing, and evaluating patient care at the appropriate skill level.
- Provide patient care in a clinic setting. Maintain assigned work area with supplies and equipment. Clean, stock and maintain exam rooms, procedure rooms, instruments and equipment.
- Intake patients by taking vitals, medical history, etc. according to policy and procedures. Escort patient to a room and prepare patient for examination.
- Consistently identify patient problems and act appropriately. Practice courtesy and consideration routinely toward patients and their families.
- Reports and accurately documents clinical findings to provider.
- Communicating effectively with providers, coordinating tests, procedures, surgeries and hospitalizations and providing patients with resources as needed.
- Triage telephone calls efficiently using protocols and screen tools specified by the provider.
- Return patient calls according to urgency and document all call and actions taken into EMR.
- Consistently observe the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality, and safety.
- Treat patients with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Adequate knowledge of clinical procedures
- Maintain quality control standards
- Practice standard infection control precautions
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes and alternatives that contribute to improvements in the quality of patient care.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Accredited high school graduate or GED equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrate leadership and self-direction
- Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year experience as a medical assistant
- Experience working in an OB/GYN setting
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Current certification in Allied Health
