Job Summary

Screens patient and obtains pertinent information.

Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs.

Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.

Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.

Provides support to the clinic as needed.
Qualifications
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
Experience
-
Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.

Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.

Experience in office clerical activities desirable.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.

CMA or RMA preferred.
Compensation/Benefits

$13.74-$22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
