Job: Medical Assistant (Optometry)

Job Summary: You will be responsible for delivering top-notch patient care and assisting with eye examinations.

Location: New Albany, IN

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required
• Preferably one or more years of experience in a medical setting

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Patient Care and Communication:

• Introduce new patients to office procedures
• Explain the purpose and effects of tests
• Collect patient history, including medical and ocular history, allergies, and medications
• Document and measure accurately
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards
• Manage patient flow and ensure comfort during wait times
  
  
  

Instrument Maintenance:

• Troubleshoot and maintain instruments
• Replace bulbs and check connections
• Report issues to the Lead Ophthalmic Technician
  
  
  

Administrative Duties:

• Seek guidance from senior staff when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in exam and procedure rooms
• Perform additional duties as required
  
  
  

Physical Demands and Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office setting. Physical demands include talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, standing, walking, sitting, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level is typically low to moderate.
