Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory surgery center team. This entry-level position provides operating room support, assists with patient positioning during fluoroscopic procedures, and helps maintain efficient clinical workflow in a fast-paced surgical environment.
We are hiring for a part time MA to work in the ambulatory surgery center 8:30 am to 4:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
Job Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Assist physicians and clinical staff during outpatient surgical procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms before and after cases
- Support patient positioning and safe transfer on fluoroscopy equipment/table
- Help maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout procedures
- Assist with room turnover and restocking of supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and procedural areas
- Prepare and transport equipment and supplies as needed
- Follow infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
- Assist with patient intake, discharge, and transport within the facility
- Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and surgical staff
- Perform additional clinical and administrative support duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification required. Many clinical medical assistants are certified through organizations such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
- Entry-level candidates welcome; willing to train the right person
- Interest in surgery, pain management, or procedural medicine preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
- Assist physicians during procedures by preparing and drawing medications under supervision and maintaining an organized sterile field
- Perform sterile skin preparation of patients prior to surgical and fluoroscopic procedures in accordance with infection control and ASC protocols
- Support procedural setup by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgery and injections
- Maintain sterile technique and assist the clinical team with intraoperative support duties as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail
- CPR/BLS certification required
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role is preferred.
- Familiarity with outpatient care processes is beneficial.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR is required.
- Part-time (Tuesday's & Thursdays)
- No weekends
