Title: Medical Assistant/PFT Tech

Location: Nimbus Health – Macon, Georgia

Role Summary: The MA/PFT Tech will be responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with breathing difficulties or lung diseases. This position involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized care plans. The Respiratory Therapist will administer treatments, educate patients, and respond to emergency situations when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ respiratory conditions through reviewing medical history and conducting diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with physicians to create and implement effective treatment plans, including oxygen therapy, medication, and mechanical ventilation.
• Administer respiratory treatments such as bronchodilator therapy, airway clearance techniques, and manage ventilators for critically ill patients.
• Educate patients and families on managing respiratory diseases and using respiratory equipment (inhalers, nebulizers, CPAP, etc.).
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Ensure the proper maintenance, cleaning, and function of all respiratory therapy equipment.
• Respond to emergency respiratory situations, including assisting in resuscitation efforts.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience required; pulmonology preferred.
• 2+ years of EMR experience required; Athena preferred.
• Formal Medical Assistant training required; BLS and/or CMA/RMA certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Genuine passion for patient care-Expected
