Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

Position Overview

Anchor Healthcare, PLC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team in a float position between one of our Family Medicine clinics and our Psychiatry clinic. This position follows a set weekly schedule between the two locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, adaptable professional who is comfortable working with a wide variety of patient needs across both primary care and behavioral health settings.

Clinical Responsibilities Include:

• Rooming patients and obtaining accurate vital signs
• Assisting with psychiatric and primary care workflows
• Phlebotomy
• Vaccine administration
• Assisting with in-office procedures
• Managing patient messages and phone communication
• Supporting documentation and follow-up tasks
• Maintaining accurate and timely charting in the electronic medical record

Front Office Responsibilities Include:

• Scheduling patient appointments
• Answering a multi-line telephone system
• Verifying and updating demographic and insurance information
• Collecting co-pays and deductibles
• Explaining patient balances
• Managing incoming and outgoing medical records
• Maintaining a warm, respectful, and HIPAA-compliant environment

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
• 2+ years of outpatient medical office experience (strongly preferred)
• Experience with electronic medical records (required)
• Athena experience (highly preferred)
• Proficiency in Google G-Suite
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt between clinical environments

Schedule: Monday through Friday with a set schedule

Work Location: In person between two office locations, both in Charlottesville, VA

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
