Medical Assistant - Primary Care Focus

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in either outpatient or inpatient settings, assisting with diagnostic testing, and with phlebotomy or IV therapy. Advanced consideration for candidates with CMA certification. This role involves assisting healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care, performing clinical tasks, and ensuring smooth operations within the medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians or nurse practitioners.
• Perform vital sign checks and document patient information accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Educate patients on health maintenance, medication administration, and treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments.
• Experience working in either outpatient or inpatient settings is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
• Accountable to show up to work on a regular basis during our regular hours.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a Primary Care office is a plus.
• Previous experience with IV therapy is a plus.
