Duties

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient appointments.
  • Take accurate vital signs, record patient histories, and update electronic health records (EHR systems) efficiently.
  • Assist with clinical procedures and medication administration under supervision.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and documentation.
  • Perform patient intake assessments, including reviewing medical histories related to dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or hospital medicine as needed.
  • Support physicians with ICD coding, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and documentation of patient encounters.
  • Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and providing exceptional patient service throughout their visit.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures across outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification and handle emergency situations confidently in urgent care or emergency medicine contexts.
  • Skilled in medication administration, vital signs collection, and supporting patients across diverse specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units.
  • Experience with clinic procedures such as intake assessments, inpatient care support, or OR experience is a plus.
