Medical Assistant / Scribe

Maywell Health Pain Management is a patient-centered practice focused on improving function and quality of life through evidence-based pain care. We’re looking for a Medical Assistant/Scribe who is organized, fast, compassionate, and thrives in a busy clinic environment.

What you’ll doClinical Support (Medical Assistant)

  • Room patients, obtain vitals, update meds/allergies, and document chief complaint/history
  • Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and support efficient clinic flow
  • Perform point-of-care tasks within scope (e.g., injections assistance, specimen handling, EKG if trained, etc. — based on clinic protocols)
  • Coordinate referrals, imaging requests, and follow-up scheduling as directed

Documentation (Scribe)

  • Accurately document provider-patient encounters in the EHR (HPI, exam, assessment/plan, procedure notes as applicable)
  • Track orders, follow-ups, and patient instructions during visits
  • Ensure documentation completeness and help providers stay on time
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Team/Operations

  • Communicate clearly with providers, front desk, billing, and clinical staff
  • Help identify workflow improvements and jump in where needed
  • Participate in training, huddles, and quality improvement initiatives

What we’re looking forRequired

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year experience in a clinical setting or strong scribing experience (preferred but flexible for the right candidate)
  • Strong typing and computer skills (comfortable documenting in real time)
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and patient service mindset
  • Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and maintain accuracy

Preferred

  • CMA/RMA/CCMA certification
  • Pain management, ortho, neurology, or primary care experience
  • Familiarity with prior authorizations, imaging/referrals, and medical terminology
  • EHR experience e.g., Athena

What success looks like in this role

  • Providers stay on schedule because documentation and rooming are tight
  • Notes are complete, accurate, and finished the same day
  • Patients feel cared for, respected, and informed
  • You proactively spot problems and help fix them (clinic flow, missing records, supply gaps)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
