Medical Assistant, Temporary-to-Permanent (PET/Nuclear Support)

We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support our Nuclear team, helping to ensure smooth, high-quality patient care. This role will assist our Nuclear Technologists and Registered Nurses in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care during cardiac PET studies.

This is a short-term opportunity (3–5 weeks) with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on practice needs and performance

Position overview

The Medical Assistant will support the clinical workflow of PET studies by assisting with patient preparation, monitoring, and overall efficiency of the department. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for PET studies
  • Help get PET scanning room ready for patients by wiping down equipment
  • Assist with patient consent and intake processes
  • Escort patients to exam areas and assist with positioning on/off exam tables
  • Apply and remove EKG patches
  • Assist with EKG procedures as directed
  • Support Nuclear Technologists and RNs during studies as directed
  • Monitor patient comfort and communicate any concerns to clinical staff
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
  • Support overall workflow efficiency within the PET department

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification required
  • BLS
  • Prior clinical experience in cardiology or diagnostic imaging a plus
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Comfortable assisting with hands-on patient care

Additional Information

This position is being created to support increased PET study volume. Responsibilities and workflow may be adjusted based on operational needs. Flexibility and adaptability are important in this role.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
