Medical Assistant

Premier practice in Beverly Hills seeks a positive, detail-oriented and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This role will support our providers of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. This role requires proficiency in sensitive patient care, procedural assistance, and coordination of diagnostic and surgical workflows.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Duties:

  • Welcome and Room patients, and obtain consents
  • Obtain and document vital signs
  • Assist with urogynecology exams, including pelvic exams and urodynamic testing
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring appropriate instruments and supplies are available
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., urinalysis, post-void residuals via bladder scan or catheterization)
  • Assist with in-office procedures (e.g., pessary fittings, cystoscopy, bladder instillations, biopsies)
  • Prep, package, and send out lab specimens
  • Provide patient education on conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and post-procedure care
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols

Procedural & Surgical Support:

  • Prepare patients for procedures and ensure informed consents are completed
  • Create and complete the POP and deliver to the surgery center
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative care instructions
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and imaging orders
  • Support surgical scheduling and ensure pre-op requirements are met

Administrative Duties:

  • Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Respond to patient messages
  • Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Handle referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments
  • Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Obtain PAs for medications
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Physical Demands

  • Perceptive acuity and physical ability and dexterity to perform all direct and indirect patient care functions including: walking, sitting, standing, bending, light lifting

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical assisting experience, preferably in a women's health, OB/GYN or urology
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA or equivalent)
  • Proven time management, ability to multitask, initiative, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Experience with EMR (Nextech software experience a plus)
  • Empathetic to patient needs
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Familiarity with urogynecology procedures and terminology
  • Experience with urodynamics and pelvic floor therapy support

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
