Job Summary

Medical Assistant: Vaccines / Experienced Required - Bilingual English - Spanish Job Responsibilities:

·Proficient in Pediatric immunization schedule

·Administers immunizations via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes

·Provide excellent customer service including problem solving, timely follow up, assisting in answering phones, checking in and scheduling appointments

·Obtains vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, medical history, current medications and presenting problem.

·Assists with diagnostic testing and establishes clinical procedures to appropriate level of training

·Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment; keeps patient exam rooms clean and orderly; disposes of contaminated items; anticipates Provider’s needs for medications, supplies and equipment and plans accordingly

·Aids Provider when examining and treating patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing tasks such as administering injectionsand removing sutures

·Collects blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens; logs the specimens and prepares them for testing

·Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets, and Provider’s instructions to patients

·Manages patient flow ensuring enough time for patient and family education

·Actively participates in continuing education, required meetings, and committees as requested

·Additional job responsibilities may arise when the needs of the Company or patients dictate

-Assist in front office: answering phones, checking in patients, verifying eligibility

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

·High school diploma or GED equivalent required

·Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program required

·Bilingual in English and Spanish required

· 2 years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a clinic or acute care setting preferred

·CPR Certification
