Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Medical Assistant/EMT to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient care. This role involves working closely with our physicians and other staff to support patient evaluation, treatment, and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibly appear to work daily
- Be pleasant and work as a team player
- Greet and room patients, obtain medical history and document vital signs.
- Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and in-office treatments.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked.
- Accurately enter data into the electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks EMR).
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic tests, and prescription refills.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in procedure room manipulating C-arm and preparing procedure trays.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to assist healthcare providers effectively.
- Conduct basic life support procedures as needed and respond to emergencies within the clinic.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care across various specialties such as internal medicine and neurosurgery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential preferred.
- Prior experience in pain medicine, or related specialty preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (experience with [eClinicalWorks] preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
- EMT/paramedic background will be considered.
