This position is a FULL TIME dual cross trained role between the Patient Service Rep (PSR) and the Medical Assistant (MA) role. The daily duties and functions will vary day to day based on the business’s need.

Our completely independent private practice is located in Downtown Chicago. Our staff of 16 providers (MD’s and Nurse Practitioners) deliver the highest level of patient care and patient satisfaction. The individual in this role is the initial point of patient interaction with The Women’s Group of Northwestern and central point of communication among visitors, providers, and other staff. The PSR position performs reception and clerical duties to ensure accurate patient account creation and maintenance, scheduling, preliminary assessment of insurance verification out-of-pocket payment/self-pay/third party insurers and collection of patient co-pays, deductible and co-insurance payments as well as monitor of patient flow throughout the office visit. This position may perform all, or a combination of the duties described depending upon their assigned work area, and the specific needs of the department.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers with the evaluation, management, treatment of patients, and to provide quality care in a clinical setting. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing, and health history intake.
