Overview
The MA/Procedure Technician plays a critical role in providing high-quality care and support within clinical settings. This position involves assisting healthcare professionals in various procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy, patient care protocols, and the ability to work effectively in both inpatient and urgent care settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and functioning properly.
- Provide direct patient care
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Enter vital information into the electronic medical record before the medical provider joins the exam.
- Establishing Complete and Accurate Medical Records (Before, During, and After Consultation)
- Ensure intake information has been updated in the EMR
- Update and include pertinent past/current diagnostic tests/images/reports in the EMR
- Update and include previously diagnosed medical conditions, current medications, current medical conditions, in the EMR
- Inform patients of laboratory, imaging and/or test results along with the MD/PA/NP’s plan of action
- Inform patients of needed laboratory, imaging and/or test results along with specific instructions
- Document all communication in the EMR
- Coordinate referral/on-going care with multi-specialists and patients
- Complete necessary paperwork for referrals
- Inform patients of the necessary referral details
- Per manufacturer guidelines, ensure instruments are cleaned/sterilized and ready for utilization
- Ensure rooms are properly cleaned/sterilized
- Conduct an extensive clean/sterilization weekly
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Experience working in a medical office
- Advanced training in electronic medical records is preferred, but not required

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
