Medical Assistant/Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient service, medical administrative support, and clinical procedures across various specialties, including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient clinics. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to comprehensive patient care while ensuring smooth front-office operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance information and updating medical records.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, recording patient histories, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Support physicians and nurses with procedures including medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within EHR systems, including ICD coding and detailed notes on patient encounters.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up reminders, and coordinate referrals to specialists or other departments as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, adhering to infection control protocols in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions or concerns promptly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Support administrative duties such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and processing billing or insurance claims related to medical services.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in clinical environments such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or emergency departments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures.
  • Experience with EHR systems and proficiency in documenting patient information accurately.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
