Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role combines clinical support with front-office responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient settings, hospital medicine, or urgent care, with a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and administrative support. Knowledge of EHR systems, vital signs, ICD coding, and anatomy is essential to succeed in this position. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in/check-out procedures
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and current medications
- Assist with patient intake processes and prepare charts for provider review
- Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support when necessary
- Document patient encounters accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care for outpatient and inpatient services
- Manage ICD coding for billing purposes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and administrative workspaces
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and concerns professionally
- Support providers during procedures in various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Receptionist in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Experience working with EHR systems and handling patient intake processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred but not mandatory
- Experience working in hospital settings such as Geriatrics, PICU, Medical-surgical units, or Emergency Medicine is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments including outpatient clinics or inpatient units within Level I or Level II trauma centers

Pay: $24.04 - $28.96 per hour
