Medical Assistant/Scribe

Are you self-motivated, team oriented, have an outward mindset and looking for a challenge? Our busy Urology clinic is seeking an experienced, full time, medical assistant/Scribe, to join our team. Candidates must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills. The candidate should also have the ability to work efficiently when faced with high volumes of patients and multiple interruptions. Candidate must be proficient with EMR’s. Ideal candidate will understand the important role they have in the patient experience; candidates need to be flexible and committed to being a part of our mission; to provide cost effective, compassionate, and comprehensive health care to all of our patients.

· 1+ year of experience in a physician office environment

· EMR experience a must

· Scribe training/exposure/experience

· Willingness to travel between clinics a must

· BCLS certification a plus

General Summary of Duties

· Scribing for physicians and mid-level providers as needed

· Responsible for assisting physicians and mid-level providers with procedures and patient care.

· Responsible for patient flow in clinic for providers.

· Perform CLIA waived testing in the office

· Data entry and accurate timely documentation

· Assists in patient scheduling, referrals, and lab test follow up

· Organize and maintain medical supplies

· Obtain and document vitals

· Return patient calls in a timely manner

· Attend job related training and meetings

· Patient education and training as needed

· Travel to outreaches when needed

· ePrescribing, faxing, mailing, calling in prescriptions

· Basic clerical duties, including answering phones

· Ordering and stocking medical and office supplies

· Injections as directed

· Equipment cleaning

· Phone Triage

Working Conditions:

Potential exposure to infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements of the job:

Constantly stand, walk, reach, frequently sit, talk/hear, push/pull,/bend/ stoop, kneel and crouch. Occasionally lift and carry 1-50 lbs.
