Job Overview

As the Authorizations Coordinator, you are responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtaining authorizations for physical therapy services.

This position requires cross training and assistance with front office duties, such as checking patients in and taking patient calls and requests.

Essential Functions

• Verify and confirm patients' information, benefits, and status with insurance carriers.
• Navigate insurance portals to determine benefits, eligibility, authorizations, and payments.
• Verify coverage, initiate authorizations, provide clinical documentation, and follow up on previously submitted prior authorizations.
• Maintain professional and open communication with providers and coworkers to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patients' records, progress notes, and any related work.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Medical Authorization and Insurance Coordination: 5 years (Required)
• EMR/EHR: 3 years (Required)
