We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies or issues related to medical billing.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim status updates, and payment histories to support audit readiness and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.
• Stay current with industry regulations, including updates in ICD coding standards and insurance policies, to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement.
• Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries by explaining charges, payment options, and insurance coverage details clearly and professionally.

Experience

• Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting, with familiarity in processing claims through various payers including private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG classifications, and their application in billing processes.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for claim submission and record management.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
• Demonstrated ability to perform medical collections effectively while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
• Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
