Medical Biller and Coder

Job Description: Advanced Dermatology Care is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the Business Office of White Bear Lake. We are looking for someone who is a team player with outstanding people skills. Major responsibilities of this role include entering charges, entering EOB’s, preparing and submitting claims, reviewing and coding clinical notes for Image Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy, resolving claim issues, posting payments, banking deposits, preparing and mailing statements, helping patients understand their statements, working with insurance companies, maintain patient records while following HIPAA compliance, and more.

Job Type: Full-time, 36-40 hours per week. Shifts times vary between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Intermittent work in office required.

Skills:

• Strong commitment to excellent customer service and patient care
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Must have experience with medical billing codes & ICD 10 codes
• Knowledge of Radiation Oncology CPT and ICD-10 experience
• Experience in dermatology billing and coding a plus!
• Ability to analyze data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills
• Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude
• Willingness to work independently and as a team player
• Bookkeeping skills are beneficial

Additional Responsibilities:

• Dependably opening and/or closing of the business office
• Providing a professional and friendly experience on the telephone and in-person for patients and vendors
• Verifying charges, incoming and outgoing
• Willingness to train in other departments of the business office
• Various clerical duties as requested by Managers

Job Qualifications:

• Experience: 1+ years of medical insurance coding
• Education: Completion of medical coding program
• Skills preferred: Involvement in credentialing, EMA EHR experience, Dermatology coding and billing, Radiation coding and billing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
