Medical Biller / Coder (AR Specialist) – Remote

We are seeking a Medical Biller/Coder with strong Accounts Receivable (AR) experience to join our team. This is a fully remote position requiring a highly skilled professional with a strong background in medical billing, coding, accounts receivable follow-up, and multi-specialty experience.

Position Overview

The Medical Biller/Coder will be responsible for managing the full revenue cycle with a primary focus on accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, coding accuracy, and reimbursement optimization across multiple specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform AR follow-up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement
• Investigate and resolve claim denials and underpayments
• Work directly with insurance carriers to appeal denied or unpaid claims
• Review and correct claims for billing and coding accuracy and compliance
• Assign and/or validate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes
• Track and report AR trends, aging, and payer issues
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing, coding, and documentation issues
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards in a remote work environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of medical billing experience
• At least 3 years of remote/work-from-home experience
• Proven experience with:
• Athenahealth
• Waystar
• Tebra
• AdvancedMD
• Strong multi-specialty billing and coding experience
• Extensive knowledge of:
• Insurance guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial)
• Denial management and appeals
• Revenue cycle processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical coding experience strongly preferred
• Coding certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is a plus

• Ability to work independently and manage workload remotely
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
