Medical Biller / Optician

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Biller / Optician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes while providing exceptional optical services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine medical billing expertise with optical care, supporting patient satisfaction and practice profitability. You will be responsible for managing medical records, coding procedures accurately, and assisting patients with their optical needs in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help streamline operations and enhance patient experiences every day.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accuracy of patient records/demographics to ensure accurate billing processes
  • Vision and Medical insurance eligibility and benefit verification support for the front office
  • Acquiring vision and medical insurance authorizations,
  • Claim processing for various medical insurance and vision plans (routine exams, medical exams, and optical; including COB)
  • Correct and resubmit claim rejections from the clearinghouse in a timely manner.
  • Prompt claim denial resolution with various insurance plans.
  • Posting of ERA's, Insurance remits, and patient payments.
  • Working the A/R and monitoring claims filing limits via aging report.
  • Patient revenue billing
  • Respond to billing inquiries and resolve payment issues.
  • Educating the providers and staff of any payment or billing issues.
  • Stay up on all insurance reimbursement and processing requirements
  • Supporting physician inquiries for accurate coding and billing of charges
  • Experience with RevolutionEHR, Crystal PM, or Officemate/Eyefinity, a plus but not required
  • Any other job duties that may have not been mentioned that fall under revenue cycle management may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of optometric/ophthalmic billing experience
  • Knowledge of Optometry/Optical ICD-10 and CPT billing coding
  • EHR experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; adept knowledge of application sharing tools and environments
  • Driven with a positive attitude
  • Flexible, approachable, enthusiastic and eager to exceed expectations
  • Able to work independently
  • Have outstanding time management skills‎
  • Have a high level of professionalism
  • Able to work in a cooperative manner with other team members
  • Have basic medical terminology in optometry/ophthalmology

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
