Medical Biller/Collector

Seeking an experienced medical biller/collector with the ability to multi task to meet deadlines, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Must have excellent problem solving skills. Can effectively call insurances to get accounts resolved as well as call patients to collect on past due accounts. Adds medical claim charges including entering services (CPT/HCPCS codes), diagnosis codes (ICD-10), and fees into a practice management system based on clinical documentation. Post payments including recording reimbursements from insurers and patients via EOBs, matching them to claims, and applying adjustments (e.g., contractual obligations).

At least 1-2 year of previous Medical Billing/Collections experienced

• Very motivated self-starter and must be able to work independently
• Must have strong understanding Medicare, Medi-cal, HMO, Urgent Care and Work Comp
• Professional, customer-service oriented, with 45+wpm and proficient computer skills.
• Proficient in EOBS, CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS
• Knowledge of ICD–10 coding guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of billing applications
• Knowledge in Medical claim charges
• Knowledge in Posting payments
• Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the organization to complete coding tasks within compliance of the federal, state and organization regulations
• Skill in multi-tasking.
• Skill in customer service.
• Skill in computer hardware and software use.
• Skill in verbal and written communication.
• Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
• Skill in analyzing situations accurately and making effective decisions
• Skill in Claim submission, Payment posting
• Skill in Claim reconciliation, Payment reconciliation
• High School diploma and Medical Billing Certificate
• Practice management system experience preferable

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
