Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring timely and accurate payment from patients and insurance providers. The ideal candidate will have experience in claim processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable management, as well as strong communication and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claim Processing & Follow-up: Review, process, and follow up on denied or unpaid claims, including handling insurance appeals and resubmissions.
- Account Management: Maintain and manage patient accounts to ensure billing accuracy and collect outstanding balances.
- Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Post payments, reconcile accounts, and verify the accuracy of all billing and payment data.
- Process Improvement: Analyze claim outcomes, identify trends, and recommend improvements to optimize the revenue cycle.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and internal clinical staff to resolve billing issues and answer related inquiries.
- Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and privacy policies.
Qualifications:
- Medical Billing Expertise: Knowledge of medical billing practices and insurance coding (ICD-10, CPT) with familiarity in payer-specific guidelines.
- Accounts Receivable Experience: Proven experience managing accounts receivable, including follow-up and collection procedures.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex claims and trends and propose data-driven solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with patients and third-party payers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical billing software and general computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
- Customer Service: A patient-centered approach with the ability to manage concerns and resolve conflicts.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines efficiently.
