Responsibilities

• Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes accurately.
• Ensure proper coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, and medical terminology.
• Prepare and submit clean claims for insurance reimbursement through Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and perform medical collections to optimize revenue recovery.
• Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle billing inquiries professionally.
• Maintain detailed and organized medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT coding systems, DRG classifications, and medical terminology.
• Experience with medical billing processes and medical collection procedures.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and EHR platforms for documentation and claim submission.
