Summary
Reporting directly to the Medical Billing Manager, the Medical Billing Associate, Family Cost Share supports the overall mission of The Warren Center by effectively managing client account balances and ensuring timely collections of outstanding payments. This position will communicate with clients regarding billing questions, payment arrangements, and insurance balances while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily.

Create and maintain financial files for all clients, which includes documentation of Family Cost Share statements and insurance data after claims have adjudicated

Answer incoming billing, claims, account balance and status calls appropriately

Enter and maintain accurate account/financial information in patient accounting system

Verify insurance eligibility and/or coverage of all insurance payors while communicating all patient responsibility with clients

Process and post patient payments including credit card, cash, check, and online payments

Set up and manage patient payment plans in accordance with company policies
-
Document all patient interactions, payment arrangements, and account updates in the billing system

Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts according to established procedures
-
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve account issues and ensure accurate billing

Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy standards, and company policies
-
Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
Reception Practices (backup)

Post ERA’S and payer responses within 24 hours of receipt
-
Process ERA’s/EOBs responses, claims, resolve claims for payment, resolution, and or appeal finalization
-
File claims/medical claims either daily, weekly or monthly
-
Act as a claims and appeal liaison on behalf of the organization with health plans
-
Ensure that all internal and external customers are treated with respect, provide knowledgeable answers, and a welcoming attitude

Intra-office and organizational communication regarding account data and claims
-
And other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Education and Experience
-
Required: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
-
Required: At lest 3 years’ experience in medical billing and or revenue cycle
-
Preferred: Experience with ProviderSoft medical software preferred
