Medical Billing Specialist

The Role

As a Billing Specialist, you will ensure the financial health of our practice by managing accurate charge capture, timely claim submissions, and effective accounts receivable follow-up. This role requires a blend of technical billing expertise and a professional, calm demeanor when communicating with patients regarding their financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Revenue Cycle Management: Execute daily claims submissions and perform diligent charge capture/review to ensure accuracy.
• Denial Management: Research and resolve claim denials promptly to minimize aging accounts receivable.
• Patient Financial Services: Act as a resource for patients by answering inquiries regarding balances and insurance coverage with clarity and empathy.
• Payment & Verification: Perform accurate payment posting and conduct thorough insurance benefit verifications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with providers and administrative staff to streamline billing workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 year of medical billing and accounts receivable experience.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Direct experience with Epic EMR is highly preferred.
• Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle, CPT codes, and insurance terminology.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume setting.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and following through on complex projects.

Pay: $23.88 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
