Medical Billing Specialist

We are expanding our team and looking for a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist with strong experience in commercial insurance billing, multi-specialty practices, and multiple billing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end medical billing cycle (Charge Entry → Payment Posting → AR Follow-ups → Denial Management)
• Work extensively on commercial insurance claims (Aetna, BCBS, UHC, Cigna, etc.)
• Perform claims submission, corrections, and resubmissions
• Analyze and resolve denials, rejections, and underpayments
• Conduct insurance verification and eligibility checks
• Follow up with insurance companies for outstanding AR
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations
• Generate and analyze billing reports and KPIs
• Coordinate with providers and internal teams for missing or incorrect information

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in US Medical Billing
• Strong expertise in Commercial Billing including MEDICAID/MEDICARE
• Experience handling multiple specialties (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Behavioral Health, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with multiple billing systems, such as:
• Kareo / Tebra
• AdvancedMD
• eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Athenahealth
• NextGen
• Office Ally
• Strong knowledge of:
• CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes
• EOB/ERA interpretation
• Denial management & appeals
• Excellent communication skills (spoken & written English)
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with US-based medical billing companies
• Familiarity with clearinghouses (Change Healthcare, Availity, etc.)
• Experience in credentialing or prior authorization (plus)
• Knowledge of specialty-specific billing nuances
