Position Overview
Provides remote insurance billing support for the Evoke Medical Care billing team. Primary responsibilities include insurance benefits verification, responding to medical records requests, and working on remit follow up and denials. The role requires accurate data entry across multiple systems related to client information, insurance details, attendance, and service coding, as well as navigating insurance payer phone systems to obtain valid information.

Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve insurance denials through corrected claims, medical records review, and/or appeal letters
- Research and update insurance information for patient accounts when patients change health plans
- Respond to insurance carrier inquiries via telephone, email, and fax
- Follow up on previously appealed claims and unpaid claims in the outstanding claims queue
- Support, monitor and work in Inquires to billing channel platform
- Conduct root cause analysis on denials to ensure efficient and accurate claim processing
- Prioritize and manage large workloads to consistently meet deadlines
Requirements
- Experience in billing, claims posting, and credentialing
- Working knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, and the full claim submission and response process
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Familiarity with basic medical records processing, including labeling, organizing, and filing
- Ability to manage electronic files, including scanning and attaching documents to client records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and medical billing software
- Ability to interact professionally with the public while maintaining strict confidentiality
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
