Medical Billing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate codes using CPT , and ICD-10 coding systems
• Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately via Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by contacting insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with medical billing regulations and industry standards, including proper documentation of medical records
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for accurate coding
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, and collections for audit purposes
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administrative roles
• Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical terminology
• Familiarity with medical records management and medical collection processes
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and documentation purposes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in coding and billing procedures
• Ability to interpret medical records accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance representatives
• Knowledge of industry standards for medical billing compliance and regulations
