Medical Billing Specialist

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our busy psychological practice. The Medical Biller is responsible for managing all aspects of insurance billing, claims processing, and revenue cycle management to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for clinical services provided by psychologists, therapists, and other mental health professionals.

This role requires strong knowledge of mental health billing practices, insurance requirements, and confidentiality standards specific to behavioral healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims for psychological and psychiatric services
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments or treatment initiation
• Manage claim denials, appeals, and resubmissions in a timely manner
• Post payments, adjustments, and patient responsibility balances to accounts
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state regulations
• Coordinate with clinicians and administrative staff regarding documentation needed for billing
• Generate billing reports and assist with financial tracking and audits

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
