Medical Billing Specialist/Data Entry

Main Duties:

-Enter patient demographics and verify eligibility using different online portals.

-Answer patient phone calls and taking credit card information over the phone to process claim payments.

-Correct any denials due to incorrect data entry.

-Check on claims pending with insurance companies.

We are currently seeking a full-time (Monday-Friday, ) medical billing specialist to join our billing team.

Our current billing team is seeking a strong support that will be able to focus on a variety of billing tasks and be in a collaborative environment. General duties will include eligibility verification from Medicare, Medi-cal and insurance, on average daily about 300 patient’s which will involve heavy data entry with demographic and eligibly verification, checking on claim status, resubmitting claims, follow up with doctor’s office for any missing billing information, appealing on unpaid claims, posting payments, collecting payments from patients, answering phone calls daily from doctor’s offices and patients.

Seeking an ideal candidate that has worked with patients with billing questions, understanding eligibility verifications, knowing how PPO and HMO plans work, know how to obtain eligibility information, have a strong work ethic, who is punctual and shows leadership qualities. Must be able to work with minimal direction, be self motivated. Must have strong computer skills with at least 45 wpm typing skills and have professional phone etiquette.

Must be ready to work in fast pace environment and obtain the necessary information to avoid timely filing.

High School graduate (Required)

Any Billing Background (Preferred)

Experience with calling Insurance, Medicare or Medi-cal (Preferred)
