Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls promptly with professional phone etiquette, providing clear and empathetic assistance to patients and healthcare providers
  • Gather, verify, and accurately input patient information into electronic health records using strong computer skills and attention to detail
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, or cancellations while ensuring adherence to clinic protocols
  • Explain medical procedures, policies, or instructions using clear language rooted in medical terminology
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations while handling sensitive patient data
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams by analyzing caller needs and escalating complex issues appropriately
  • Document interactions thoroughly in the system, ensuring data accuracy for future reference

Experience

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare call center environment is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and data entry tasks
  • Familiarity with phone etiquette standards and active listening techniques
  • Analysis skills to assess caller needs quickly and provide appropriate solutions or guidance
