Medical Coder and Biller (up to 30 hours weekly)

Rooted Counseling Services is looking for part-time Medical Biller for the Westford location.

Rooted is a mental health private practice with a strong team of clinicians, admins, and support staff looking for an in-house biller to join the team. Our ideal candidate would work hybrid in-office and remote, and up to 30 hours of work weekly. Some benefits are available for part-time employees including pro-rated paid time off (2 weeks) and 401k with a 4% match. The possibility for full-time (40 hours) and additional benefits in the future for the right candidate.

Duties:

- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes to medical procedures and services and edit if needed
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in medical billing or coding required
-Experience in Mental Health Billing preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
