Medical Collector

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Collector to join our team, with excel experience. The Medical Collector will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely collection of payments from insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing and coding processes, IPAs and Health Plans, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical claims for accuracy and completeness
- Follow up on outstanding claims with insurance companies to ensure timely payment
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9 and CPT to accurately code claims
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations, changes in medical coding practices, changes in IPAs/Health Plans such as mergers/acquisitions
- Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes
- Exemplify positive attitude while working independently and/or collaborating with others
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and collection processes
- Proficiency in using medical office systems and software
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1.00 per year
