Duties

• Pick up and deliver medical specimens, medications, equipment, and other healthcare-related items according to scheduled routes or on-demand requests.
• Ensure all transported items are handled in compliance with applicable safety standards, including temperature control, biohazard precautions, and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Verify documentation and maintain accurate delivery logs, tracking information, and specimen integrity forms.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient and medical information.
• Operate personal vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, laboratory personnel, and healthcare staff to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
• Inspect and maintain delivery equipment and vehicles, reporting any issues promptly.
• Use routing and communication technology (e.g., GPS, mobile apps) to optimize delivery efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the organization professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• You must reside within 30-45 minutes from Vestal, NY 13850
• Previous courier, delivery, or medical transport experience preferred but not always required.
• Ability to lift and carry packages (commonly 20–50 lbs, depending on employer requirements).
• Strong time-management skills and reliability.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology or willingness to learn.
• Comfort working with biohazard materials and following safety protocols.
