Position Overview

Monarch Diagnostics is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Courier / Accessioner to join our growing team. This full-time hourly position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate specimen handling, timely transportation, and proper accessioning within our laboratory operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, customer-service focused, and comfortable working in both field and laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities

Courier Duties:

• Safely and efficiently pick up and deliver medical specimens, supplies, and reports

• Maintain proper specimen handling and chain-of-custody procedures

• Ensure timely route completion while maintaining professionalism with clients

• Operate company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner

• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs

Accessioning Duties:

• Receive, verify, and log specimens into the laboratory information system

• Confirm patient and specimen information for accuracy and completeness

• Label, process, and prepare samples for testing

• Communicate discrepancies or issues promptly to laboratory staff

• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record

• Ability to pass background check

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Basic computer proficiency

• Prior medical courier or laboratory experience preferred (not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and driving

• Comfortable handling biological specimens using proper PPE
