Medical Courier driver

Job Overview
Currently seeking Medical Courier Drivers for deliveries throughout the DMV. Night and Day shifts available. Drivers will be responsible for safely transporting medical supplies, specimens, and equipment to various healthcare facilities. Your role is vital in ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining the integrity of sensitive materials, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Transported medical specimens, lab samples, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and patient locations in compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations
• Utilized personal vehicle to complete scheduled and on-demand deliveries while maintaining reliability, cleanliness, and proper vehicle maintenance standards
• Ensured timely, accurate deliveries by following optimized routes and adhering to strict pickup and drop-off deadlines
• Maintained chain of custody protocols for sensitive medical items, including proper documentation and secure handling procedures
• Verified delivery details, obtained signatures, and completed electronic or paper logs for all pickups and deliveries
• Followed biohazard safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and spill response procedures
• Communicated effectively with dispatch, healthcare staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve delivery issues promptly
• Performed routine vehicle inspections and managed fuel, mileage tracking, and maintenance records for reimbursement or tax purposes
• Adapted to changing schedules, STAT deliveries, and high-priority transport requests in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Maintained confidentiality of patient information and adhered to all healthcare compliance standards
• Demonstrated strong navigation skills using GPS systems and route planning tools to maximize efficiency
• Provided professional customer service while representing the company in medical and clinical environments

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks or similar is preferred.
• Proven delivery driver experience, especially within courier or logistics environments involving route driving.
• Must have a clean criminal background check
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Experience with warehouse operations including loading/unloading, moving heavy items, and using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks safely during daily operations.
• Knowledge of driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus; familiarity with load securing and safety procedures is essential.
• Prior experience working as a courier or in a healthcare-related transportation role is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
