Medical Courier Driver

Job Summary
Neshure LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing compliant, high-reliability medical logistics services to the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Courier Driver to support our federal contract with VA Boston Healthcare System — transporting Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs), pharmaceutical supplies, and clinical materials between VA campuses in the Greater Boston area.

This is not a standard delivery role. You will be operating under a federal government contract where chain-of-custody documentation, temperature compliance, biohazard handling protocols, and strict schedule adherence are required on every run. The right candidate understands that every pickup and every delivery is a direct link in the chain of Veteran care — and treats it accordingly.

In return, Neshure offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule backed by a federal contract, competitive pay, paid training and certifications, paid sick leave, and 11 Federal Holidays off. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans while building a professional career in federal healthcare logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company-provided cargo van along designated daily routes between VA Boston Healthcare System campuses (West Roxbury, Lowell CBOC, Brockton VAMC, and Jamaica Plain) transporting Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs), pharmaceutical supplies, and clinical materials.
  • Maintain strict physical separation of clean and soiled/biohazard cargo using designated CLEAN and DIRTY-BIOHAZARD partitioned cargo compartments per VA and AAMI TIR109:2025 standards.
  • Complete chain-of-custody transportation manifests at every pickup and delivery, including date/time, item description, temperature log entry, and recipient signature — no exceptions.
  • Monitor and document cargo area temperature and humidity throughout every route; report any excursion immediately to the Operations Manager.
  • Conduct a standardized pre-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) before every departure, verifying HVAC function, spill kit, PPE, cargo locks, and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Respond to same-day contingency transport requests within a 4-hour window across all assigned VA campus routes.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with VA clinical staff, sterile processing personnel, and pharmacy staff at each facility during pickups and deliveries.
  • Report any anticipated delays, vehicle issues, or incidents to the Operations Manager immediately; submit written incident reports to the VA COR within 24 hours of any loss, damage, or chain-of-custody concern.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform intermediate-level disinfection of the cargo area between runs using hospital-grade cleaning agents.
  • Comply with all VA facility access, badging, parking, and conduct policies at all campus locations.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier in a healthcare, clinical, or medical logistics environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality — this is a federal government contract with fixed departure times (0700 and 1530 EST); schedule adherence is non-negotiable.
  • Familiarity with chain-of-custody documentation, delivery logs, and manifest completion preferred.
  • Experience handling sensitive, time-critical, or regulated materials (medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, biological specimens) is a strong plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required; MVR check will be conducted.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening prior to first day of performance — required for VA contractor badge issuance.
  • Ability to lift and carry containers up to 40 lbs; ability to manage case carts up to the dimensions specified by the VA (46"W × 33"D × 57"H).
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict compliance standards.
  • U.S. Military veterans strongly encouraged to apply — Neshure LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
  • OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen, DOT 49 CFR, HIPAA, and AAMI TIR109 training will be provided and paid by Neshure — no prior certification required, but familiarity is a plus.
