Medical Courier/Independent Contractor

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Courier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and documents efficiently and safely. This role requires strong driving skills, the ability to navigate routes effectively, and a commitment to timely deliveries. As a Courier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our clients receive their packages on time.

Duties

• Drive various vehicles, including box trucks and vans, to deliver packages and documents to designated locations.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.

• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks for moving heavy items safely.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Courier or in a similar driving role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
• Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the day.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling deliveries.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
