Medical Device Machinist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Machinist to manufacture precision components used in medical devices and related assemblies. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong documentation practices, and the ability to follow controlled manufacturing procedures in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate understands precision machining, inspection requirements, and the importance of producing parts that meet strict quality and compliance standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machining equipment to manufacture medical device components
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures, routers, and work instructions
  • Machine components to precise dimensions and tight tolerances
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts using calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection tools
  • Document inspection results and production activity clearly and accurately
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials, dimensional issues, or process deviations
  • Support first article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspection requirements
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, ISO, and company quality system requirements
  • Handle materials and parts carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or mix-ups
  • Assist with process validation, equipment qualification, or continuous improvement activities as needed
  • Maintain a clean workstation and follow safety, cleanliness, and documentation requirements at all times
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to meet production and compliance goals

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of machining experience preferred
  • Experience working with precision components and close tolerances
  • Ability to read detailed technical drawings and controlled manufacturing documents
  • Strong knowledge of inspection methods and precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to follow procedures exactly and work in a regulated manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience machining stainless steel, plastics, or other medical-grade materials
  • Experience with device components requiring traceability and lot control

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 to 50 pounds
  • Good manual dexterity and visual attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with strict cleanliness and quality standards

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
