Medical Doctor — Terrain Medicine (Telehealth, CEU/CME Eligible)
Absurd Health is expanding a physician-led practice that treats people as integrated systems, not isolated parts. We are a faith-informed, terrain-medicine organization that pairs medical doctors with Covenant Psychology therapists so clinical plans align across physiology, conscience, and daily household rhythms. If you are serious about systems physiology, root-cause diagnosis, and careful testing that actually changes outcomes, we invite you to build with us.
We are seeking licensed Medical Doctors who are already familiar with Terrain Medicine or who can clearly demonstrate rigorous study and alignment with it. Your work will center on careful evaluations, differential diagnosis that respects whole-body interdependence, and judicious testing that guides repair rather than generating dashboards for their own sake. Our care maps typically sequence clocks and meals, sleep and circadian re-entrainment, bile and motility, brief anti-inflammatory “war” windows, structured repair, refeed, and progressive load—all documented in plain language that households can keep on ordinary days.
This role is telehealth-first and work-from-anywhere, with clinical activity focused on patients physically located in jurisdictions where you hold an active license. You will collaborate directly with our therapists and with patients’ families to translate medical insight into repeatable, lived patterns. Administrative burden is deliberately light: documentation is streamlined to what is clinically, ethically, and legally necessary. The emphasis is on clean handoffs, clear standards, and measurable change.
Clinical scope and daily work. You will conduct comprehensive medical intakes that map symptoms to terrain pathways rather than siloed organ lists. Your diagnostic process will integrate history, exam elements feasible by telehealth, and targeted testing. Typical test selection may include blood chemistry panels for metabolic and inflammatory status; thyroid and adrenal markers; iron and copper studies where indicated; lipid subfractioning; GI and microbiome assays; breath tests for SIBO where appropriate; infectious and immune profiling when clinically justified; and autonomic balance measures that inform pacing and load. You will synthesize results into a practical plan with explicit thresholds, revisit intervals, and safety gates, and you will coordinate with therapists to ensure that medical timing, dosing, and household practices reinforce one another. You will document succinctly, provide clear patient education, and maintain standards for referral when red flags appear.
Education and credits. The position qualifies for continuing education pathways. Eligible physicians may earn CEU/CME credit through approved courses aligned with terrain medicine and integrative systems care. We maintain relationships with accredited providers and will supply the documentation necessary to claim hours, subject to your board’s rules and the accreditor’s criteria. Details on eligible offerings are provided during onboarding, with support for course selection that meaningfully advances your practice.
Licensure and compliance. You must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in the state(s) where you will see patients. You will practice strictly within your scope and your jurisdictions’ telehealth regulations. Multi-state licensure is welcome and prioritized; international physicians must meet their local requirements and any cross-border telemedicine constraints applicable to patient location. Credentialing, consent, privacy, and data security standards are enforced without compromise.
Alignment and approach. We are a Christian organization whose care philosophy is covenantal and terrain-based. We welcome physicians of any background who respect this mission and can work within it. Familiarity with Terrain Medicine is required; familiarity with our broader canon—particularly the clinical sequencing of clocks, meals, bile/flow, brief “war,” repair, refeed, load, and dusk breathing—will strengthen your application. Physicians who can translate complex physiology into clear, humane instructions that a family can implement will thrive here. The goal is not perfection but reliability: small, durable changes that compound into restored function.
Schedule and collaboration. You set your availability. We route cases that fit your licensure, specialty interests, and capacity. You will work side-by-side with Covenant Psychology therapists, health coaches, and, when needed, outside specialists, with clean coordination protocols so responsibilities are unambiguous. Case reviews are focused and purposeful. Paperwork is minimal by design so clinical attention is not fractured.
Compensation. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with credentials, scope, caseload, and jurisdictions served. We discuss specific rates during the interview process and match them to the complexity of work and testing oversight expected in your panel. Malpractice coverage arrangements and telehealth platform details are clarified at contracting.
Why this work matters. Our patients are rebuilding health at the level of calendars, kitchens, and sleep—where medicine either lands or never truly begins. Your evaluations and diagnostics will set the pace and sequence for real life, not just for charts. If you want your medical reasoning to show up as steadier weeks, fewer crashes, and measurable gains in function, this is a practice where your craft will be felt.
How to apply. Visit www.absurdhealth.com and use the contact form to introduce yourself with the subject line “Medical Doctor — Terrain Medicine.” Include a CV or résumé; the states or countries where you hold active licenses; your general weekly availability; a short description of your training and practice philosophy as it relates to Terrain Medicine; and a brief case vignette that illustrates how you would evaluate, test, and sequence care for a complex, multi-system patient in a telehealth context. If you have reviewed our books and materials, note specific insights that inform your diagnostic approach. Please identify any CME/CEU interests so we can align onboarding with your professional development goals. We appreciate candidates who have read our material and familiar with Terrain.
