Role Overview
The Field Doctor will be a key member of the Mobile Health Unit (MHU) team delivering
primary healthcare services
in underserved areas of Gurdaspur. The role includes conducting OPD consultations, managing maternal and child health cases, preventive screenings, and ensuring timely referral of critical cases. The doctor will also support health awareness sessions and maintain proper medical documentation to contribute to overall community health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide
primary medical consultation and treatment
to patients through MHUs in assigned villages.

Diagnose illnesses, prescribe medicines, and maintain
electronic/digital patient health records
.

Deliver services under the project mandate, including:
-
Basic OPD services
for common illnesses and NCDs.
-
Maternal and Child Health (MCH) care
, including ANC, PNC, and immunization support.
-
Preventive health check-ups
(BP, diabetes, anaemia, malnutrition, etc.).

Ability to provide basic emergency care and stabilization before referral
-
Identify and refer patients needing secondary/tertiary care to government health facilities, and ensure proper follow-up.

Support
awareness, IEC, counselling sessions
on hygiene, nutrition, preventive health, promotive healthcare and disease management.

Work closely with
ANMs, ASHAs, and Anganwadi workers
for effective community mobilization and continuity of care.

Ensure
availability and rational usage of medicines and diagnostic kits
in coordination with the pharmacist.

Maintain regular reporting and documentation as per project M&E framework (MIS, quarterly reports).

Participate in training, community outreach, and periodic monitoring visits.

Uphold
medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and project guidelines
at all times.
Qualification & Experience
-
MBBS degree
from a recognized university with valid registration under the Medical Council of India / Haryana State Medical Council.

0-4 years of clinical experience
in rural/field/community health settings preferred.

Ability to work in
field-based/mobile setups
and with diverse communities.

Strong knowledge of
maternal and child health, NCD management, and preventive healthcare
.
-
Familiarity with government health programs (NHM, ICDS, etc.) will be an added advantage.

Comfortable working in resource-limited, rural settings with extensive field travel.

Compensation & Benefits
-
Consolidated monthly salary
₹60,000 to 80,000 per month
as per experience.
