Medical Dresser

Department: Hospital / Clinical Services
Location: IMS & SUM Hospital / As Assigned
Reporting To: Nursing Superintendent / Medical Officer

Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties

• Perform wound dressing, bandaging, plastering, and removal of sutures as instructed by the doctor.
• Assist in minor surgical procedures and emergency first aid.
• Clean, disinfect, and prepare procedure areas and dressing materials.
• Administer basic patient care such as checking vital signs when required.
• Ensure proper handling of sterile equipment and maintain infection control protocols.
• Support doctors and nurses during treatment, examinations, and emergency needs.

Operational & Support Duties

• Maintain adequate stock of dressing materials, first-aid supplies, and sterile items.
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures, dressing notes, and consumables used.
• Assist in patient mobility or transfer when required.
• Handle biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of dressing rooms and first-aid stations.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of first aid, wound management, and sterile techniques.
• Ability to handle emergency cases calmly and effectively.
• Good communication and patient-handling skills.
• Understanding of safety, hygiene, and hospital protocols.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Dresser / Certificate in Medical Dressing (from a recognized institute).
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or emergency care unit preferred.
• Additional: Basic computer knowledge will be an added advantage.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to clinical and emergency environments.
• Requires standing for long periods and handling patients.
• Must adhere to all hospital safety and infection-control guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
